Wedding Advice – Booking Your Photographer

You may think that this post will be all about us just trying to get you to book us as your wedding photographer. Well it won’t be. This post is our thoughts on what you should be looking for when you do book your wedding photographer. Whomever that is. Before we get started there are plenty of magazines out there they may have many articles on this subject but most want you to book who is in their magazine. Or the people who are paying the advertising. But we assure you will not do that here…promise

Number One rule hire someone who has experience with actually photographing a wedding. Sure your cousin has this awesome camera they just bought and they are dyeing to use it. But if you plan on only marrying once and most people do you may want someone who has a few weddings under their belt. Experience will help in situations that may arise through out your day that would call for quick thinking. If you have seen it before you will react better than someone who has not. Trust us this happens more often then you think.

Have you been in a bridal party recently? Did you enjoy the experience? If so that photographer had a major role in your awesome experience. You may not think so but that photographer helped navigate through the day and made all the right moves to get to that great finish. You can talk to them to see if there is a fit and if they are available for your wedding day.

Those a certain photographer “get you”? This is many different things for many different people but if this photographer understands what you want and what you see on your wedding day, hire them. It could be 2 years before your wedding date, who cares. Check that off your list as soon as you can. The great ones go first and fast. You do not want to be disappointed.

These three points are crucial when you hire your wedding photographer. If they do not have experience actually photographing a wedding you need to look elsewhere. That photographer from your cousins wedding that made the day go smooth, talk to them. If you like them and you can see that photographer at your ceremony photographing you walking down the aisle in your awesome dress with the 10 foot train, hire them. It is really that simple. Three key points that will make your wedding photography last for years and years.
