Favorite Studio Images – Wedding Rice Attack

Wedding traditions are great, they add to the atmosphere of the day. Filled with joy and laughter they help make the wedding day run smoothly from event to event. But some can be dangerous, not life threatening or anything. But still dangerous. Like letting all of your guests throw objects at you. Some of these guests may or may not be trying to hurt you but I have been to many functions where loosing an eye could’ve happened. Then it’s a sport right?

This studio favorite image was shot at an awesome Greek wedding last year. Many ceremony locations have outlawed throwing rice as it makes a spectacular mess that someone needs to clean up. But ask anyone who has been to a Greek wedding and they will tell you that a mess or two may happen. I had one thought as I sat on the floor waiting for the bride and groom to appear and for the eventual rice attack and that thought was how much rice could these guests actually have ready. We were close to a Costco and was almost afraid to ask that question out loud.

That answer can be seen through the many images captured as the bride and groom took the few steps outside of the church to their limo. A steady stream of rice was unleashed on the bride and groom as well as the poor photographer sitting on the floor helpless. If you have ever been caught in a rainstorm you know they feeling. But at least the rain does let up once and awhile. My favorite part of the shot is the look of happiness and a pinch of fear on the grooms face.

Autumn Wedding At The Old Mill – Ann & Murray

Autumn Wedding At The Old Mill – Ann & Murray

This past autumn we had the pleasure of capturing Ann and Murray’s wedding at the Old Mill. It was a beautiful fall day that say this intimate wedding have guests all the way from England. This awesome couple had two of us there for a few hours tell the story of their day. With a two shooter coverage many things can be told through hundreds of images captured. It always for a full spectrum of events through out the day be shown.

The ceremony was held in the lovely chapel that the Old Mill has right on site. It can come in handy for those looking for that one location within the city that can accommodate both the reception as well as the ceremony. The chapel has an old world charm to it and we love the light coming in off to the side. It helps with capturing the intimate setting that the chapel provides. After leading us through passages within the Old Mill the bride and groom stopped to greet their guests in a courtyard where their cocktail hour was held. A few family and friend photographs later lead us to a little alone time with the bride and groom.

We went on an adventure of photographing our way in and around the venue. We went through more doorways and walkways and passageways than we had a chance to count. But the end result paid off with the great images you see below. It is always a fun time of year to photograph as the colors help greatly in capturing that season. After a little cupcake smash to celebrate their wedding we left the bride and groom to party with their guests for the evening.

First Day Of Toronto Blue Jays Baseball 2018

First Day Of Toronto Blue Jays Baseball 2018

Our beloved Blue Jays start this season without much optimism. After all the division rivals from New York and Boston appear on paper to be pretty loaded with talent. But as a smart man once said you do not win anything on paper, you win on the field. We feel that this season will lead us into the post season regardless of what they are up to in Massachusetts. We laugh in the face of the evil empire in the Bronx, they do not scare us no matter how far the can hit a baseball.

The Blue Jay pitching staff is the best in the division if not the American League. Everyone knows that good pitching beats good hitting every day of the week. If they all stay healthy and do not develop any blister issues we should be fine. As well there is much better depth within the starters and bullpen, which was a real issue last year. The players we lost in the off season have all been replaced by players who are better, no sugar coating it . Grichuk, Diaz, Solarte, and Granderson are not flashy names but they are very good major leaguers. Listen I am really going to miss Jose Bautista, he is the reason Toronto’s fan base regained it’s swagger. But the Jose ship sailed away early last year although we will always remember the bat flip and so does Texas.

They are making the post season for sure if two gentleman bring it this year. Those two gentleman are Josh Donaldson and Aaron Sanchez. Although Josh may be on another team next year he will want to prove something this season in order to get paid. The Sanchize needs to soak his hand in pickle juice all year so we do not run into old man blister. With the development of an ace pitcher and another MVP season from the “Bringer Of Rain” Blue Jay fans will be pretty happy out there on the patio in centre field. For those of you who are in fantasy leagues you need to keep your eyes on Devon Travis who should be batting 300 and setting the table for the big boys in the middle of the lineup. Vegas had the over under on Blue Jay total wins for 2018 at 81.5. If I were a betting man I would take the over without hesitation.

Favorite Studio Images – Harding Waterfront Estate

Favorite Studio Images – Harding Waterfront Estate

One of our favorite images form last year comes from Ashley and Gitano’s wedding at Harding Waterfront Estate. The day was a tad stressful as we had to worry about rain constantly through out the day. This stress adds up quickly especially for the bride and groom whom have been planning this one day for months if not years. But the weather is something that none of us can control as we all know. There a little tricks and cheats to allow us to capture great images even as the rain falls but there is only so much you can do.

As well as the rain we had an intimate venue that holds both the ceremony and reception on the same grounds. Not much time to get away from the guests and have a little alone time to create awesome images. But where there is a will there is a way and we always find a way. We wanted the couple to be alone and to allow the day and magnitude of it to sink in. As anyone knows that wedding day can be a little too much and any moment taken to absorb and reflect on it is appreciated. We felt that Ashley and Gitano could use a little alone time, so a plan was set into to motion.

While everyone was distracted with the cocktail hour and open bar we snuck around the back down a dark forest passage way. What was at the end of the path we knew was worth the walk as we had scouted the location well before hand. But our couple had no idea what was ahead. But they were not worried as they filled in their conversation with the days events and how much they appreciated a little one on one time. Then we reached the lake and a private beach for two, with no one else in sight. After 10 minutes of alone time skipping stones along the water and conversation we needed to get back to reality and the reception to follow.
