Studio Cabral Wedding Gift Registry

Studio Cabral Wedding Gift Registry

A wedding can be an expensive endeavor that’s why we are proud to announce that all of our couples can sign up for our Wedding Gift Registry. Any one of your family members or friends can go online and send you money right from their comfort of home. Uncle Pete want to send you money from Saskatchewan? He can do so sitting at home in his PJ’s, or whatever he may wear around the house.

The gifts will go right on your personal account with us and can be used to help pay for your package or for any upgrades you choose to purchase. It is a great way to get another canvas or to upgrade your storybook album. The sky is the limit. We started this to help get you through the process of planning your wedding. As we have all heard from family members any little bit helps. The idea came to us when a few weeks back a client passed by and said that they wished the could have a gift registry help pay for their wedding. The light in our heads went off like in a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

This is now available to all of our current weddings as well as the weddings yet to book. We can set it up for you at no charge and links will be sent to you. All you need to do is let us know that you would like to be a part of the gift registry program. We will take care of the rest and maybe send Uncle Pete a pair of pants.

The 7 Successful Wedding Vendor Traits Brides Need To Look For

The 7 Successful Wedding Vendor Traits Brides Need To Look For

Experience

How long have they been in business. This helps so much more than anything you measure vendors against one another. If a wedding vendor has over 10 years experience they have seen some things. A book deal may be on their horizon because they have been there and done that. If you hire someone who does this as a hobby can you truly say that you have confidence in their experience?, probably not. On the other hand someone with energy who may not have the experience can make up for their short comings in the experience department. These are rare wedding vendors and they are few and fair between. Experience can help you with issues on your wedding day that you haven’t even thought of.

Communication

When you speak do they listen. When you mention a certain idea that you have are they receptive to it or do you get the run around? Most successful wedding vendors are great listeners and great communicators. We need to know what our clients are looking for and how to achieve it for them, if possible. A successful wedding vendor should also communicate why an idea may not work. If you cannot have images taken at Casa Loma because they are under construction you need to know that.

Availability

You are a busy person who has a hard time getting 15 minutes to yourself, let alone a couple hours. Can your wedding vendor be there when you need them, or accommodate you on off hours. Emails need to be answered and phone calls returned, bottom line. There should not be any exceptions when dealing with clients. We have booked a wedding based on the fact that we answered their email 2 hours sooner than the other company.

Patience

Wedding planning can get crazy. There are those who need to have someone walk them through all of the peaks and valleys that may arise. A successful wedding vendor knows you need to ask certain questions and in most cases we have been asked hundreds of times. But any successful wedding vendor will answer as if it’s the first time, because for you it is.

Budget Management

Budget management is a field of land mines that a successful wedding vendor needs to know how to navigate. We understand that you may be tight on funds. You just purchased a home and you need to furnish it. The last thing you need is a bill for $800 for a product you didn’t need. Successful wedding vendors know how to deal with your budget regardless of the number.

Knowledge

If person number one has studied a subject for longer than person two has he figuratively should have more knowledge on the subject. It’s science and you don’t mess with science. Successful wedding vendors know where to go how to get there and the best route to take. They have driven that road more so many times they no longer need landmarks to help them on their way. Trust the knowledge that they offer. It could make a difference on something that you may have overlooked.

Problem Solving

If Macgyver had an option for a career change he would be a very successful wedding vendor. Picture a rainy day, a bridal party of 26 and you need to take pictures in the middle of a park AND you have 5 minutes. The scene sounds terrible but it has happened to us and we made it work. The problem solving is the X factor. It is all traits rolled into one because without the other 6 you would never be able to solve that problem.

Latest Studio Commercial Photography

Commercial shoots in the studio have picked up within the past few weeks. I guess it pays to post all of the images we capture through the day to day life of our studio. We are continually amazed that we are able to do what we love. It is very true that if you love your job you will never work a day in your life. Still we do get caught off guard with some of the things we are asked to photograph. Each morning we wake up and ask ourselves what awesome object will we see walk through our doors today.

It is always a great start to your week when someone from a comic book shop passes by on a Monday morning and asks you to photograph toys for a soon to be named online store they are working on. Truth be told I do lean more towards DC rather than Marvel but we can’t be too picky I suppose. When you actually get paid to play with toys you are doing something right. If my 8 year old self could only see me now. My 8 year old self would not care for the coffee we photographed but my current self does love me some coffee. No humans before coffee according to my favorite mug.

We also had the privilege to do a little work for a chef once again working on a cookbook. He needed a few images to use in between the recipes in this upcoming book. On a late Wednesday afternoon were introduced to a pestle and mortar and how to actually use it correctly. At this point we are not quilting our day job. One of the more interesting shoots we did was for an antiques dealer who want to stop an online store. We had a chance to photograph anything and everything cool. But the most awesome was the little Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolf Man busts we snuck into the shot. For the finished product we went for an old time photo look that we feel fit the situation well.

How much wedding photography coverage do you really need?

How much wedding photography coverage do you really need?

Wedding photography coverage can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours on a wedding day. If you think we are joking about 24 hours, think again. The question that many couples ask themselves is how much coverage do I really need. This is a very good question and one that cannot be answered by your wedding photographer. This question can only be answered by you, the bride and groom.

You are the only ones that truly know what is important to you in terms of coverage. Do you want to tell the story of your whole day? Do you only want the ceremony and a few images captured of the two of you alone? Are you having a Big Fat Portuguese Wedding? The question that we ask every couple that ask how much coverage they need is this…WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU? Most of our clients want to tell the story of their day. This can be told on average between 8-12 hours, and many weddings can take up to 16 hours to cover. It depends on travel and how well your events are spaced on your timeline.

Not everyone can afford to have a photographer there to capture any and all of the events but they can be there to capture the important ones. We have a wedding this year in which we are contracted for 4 hours of coverage. This includes their first reveal, formal portraits, ceremony and the first hour of their reception. This is the coverage they felt told the story of their wedding day, they way they wanted it told. The more traditional weddings fell that they desire the groom getting ready as well as the bride getting ready before the ceremony. Everyone is different, and everyone is right.

As a wedding photographer there are no set timelines that we need to follow to capture the best images possible. Any timeline works for us, we can capture great images in 5 minutes or 5 days. Your wedding photography coverage should be dictated by the ones having the wedding. They are the bosses for that day, the bride and groom are the boss. What the boss wants they usually get. All that you need to ask yourself is what do we want documented and how much time should that take. Allow wiggle room for any unforeseen events as well as weather and travel. This could be 6 or 16 hours of wedding photography coverage. Either way it’s the time you need to capture all of the wonderful events on your dream wedding day.

First Communion Photography Sessions

First Communion Photography Sessions

There are few rights of passage as important for Catholic children as their first communion. Studio Cabral has been well involved within this type of photography session since day one over 30 years ago. While many studios shy away from photographing children, we embrace it. Especially the First Communion sessions, it is a special day in the 7-8 year old’s that we photograph. As well as a priceless heirloom that families can keep for generations to come. I cherish mine till this day because I had a shiny silver suit complete with white shirt and an awesome bright red bow tie. The eighties were so great for fashion.

We have been photographing First Communion sessions this year in studio since early February as the early birds love to get those worms. It is a great way to get any thank you cards or prints ready for the day of Communion party for your guests. Sessions before or even after the Communion day are a great way of having your child calm and relaxed. The day can be packed with emotion even for a young child, they may need to focus on one thing. Their photography sessions can wait for a day when they can focus solely on the pictures being taken by us.

After Easter we will be getting many emails and phone calls booking First Communion sessions right up until July. If you would like to receive our special pricing or to book a date for your child’s session let us know. Either call us at the studio or fill out our contact form on our website or blog. On the rare Saturday that we may be in the studio and not out photographing a wedding should be busy. Don’t delay, we hate telling anyone that we are booked for the day and or time that they would like. Below you can see a few of our First Communion photography sessions that we have photographed this past week.
