Ocean Blue and Sand Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Location Scouting
For this blog post on location scouting I wanted to go over our thought process when we are scouting a location for any event. We are always very aware of our surroundings when we go on a location scout because we need to adapt to any situation that may arise. We try to check for great lighting spots that are in and around the area. Which is why we took a walk around the entire resort at the precise time that we would be doing so on the wedding day. Regardless of the weather the lighting should and was exactly the same as the wedding day. Other things that we look out for are spots that are hidden and or not the “normal” places one would take photographs. Not sure if you have noticed but we go a little against the grain with where we photograph weddings and or any other session. The number one thing we look for when on a location scout is how many people may or may not be in a certain area. Although we love being around people there are moments that just work better with no one around. Unless of course you want to use the people as part of the photograph, with their permission of course. We are glad to share with you a little of the process of what goes through our minds prior to scouting a location.
