Carla & Ian – Benares Historic House

Carla & Ian – Benares Historic House

We met Carla and Ian at her sister’s wedding in 2012. Carla told us that if she were ever crazy enough to get married we would have the job, a privilege for us to hear. Flash forward to 4 years later and both Carla and Ian were crazy enough to get married, and we were there as promised.
It is always a pleasure to shoot for a couple with so much love and who know how to have a great fun filled day. Both their ceremony and reception were held at the always wonderful Oasis Convention Centre.

A late winter wedding comes with many different challenges. The weather can be an issue of course, we are in Canada after all. But on a day when two awesome people tied the knot we tried our hardest to keep a straight face with all of the antics that this bridal party threw our way. We have been around most of them before so we knew what to expect. We can fill you in without too many details. We were given an early morning explanation on the benefits of marriage and how it compares to fruits in a weird way. We were treated to an impromptu ghost hunt, which was the single funniest moment so far this year. If that could be topped off it would only take a group piano rendition of Dancing Queen by Abba. Yes that happened, so glad we have the video footage to prove it. It was the very first time that we shot at the Benares Historic House and we are planning on returning soon, it had so many great spots. Carla and Ian were so great to work for and we wish them all the best in their new life together.

Cheers

Chris
